Announcing New Vice President of Development
Farmington Hills., Mich. (September 13, 2018) – Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF) today announced the appointment of Debra Griffith as vice president of development. In her new role, Griffith will lead fundraising programs and initiatives to support the mission of CLF, which is to provide and promote compassionate, personalized support to people in Michigan affected by leukemia and other blood-related disorders.
Griffith joins CLF after a successful career at The University of Michigan where she most recently served as senior director of core services in the Office of Development for Michigan Medicine. In this role, Griffith provided leadership, management, and strategic oversight of donor relations, stewardship, and patient facilitated services. She also built, from the ground up, Michigan Medicine’s inaugural philanthropy training program for faculty and medical staff. Since its inception 2012, the program has made tremendous strides to develop strategies and best practices specific to physician engagement and has had significant impact in enhancing donor relationships and driving fundraising results for Michigan Medicine.
Prior to her role with Michigan Medicine, Griffith served as director of development for the Comprehensive Cancer Center within the University of Michigan Medical School where she was responsible for all fundraising efforts.

In her new role, Griffith will develop and implement the overall fundraising strategy for CLF. She will also lead key fundraising events throughout the year, including the CRUSH event in Grand Rapids, the Gray’s Reef golf outing and Love, Laughter & Lunch; a fundraising luncheon supported and sponsored by the local business community.
“I am inspired by the mission of the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and the work it does helping people in Michigan affected by leukemia and other blood-related disorders,” said Griffith. “I look forward to expanding our fundraising efforts in order to increase support and services for those in need.”
Griffith is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising management from Michigan State University.
