The Blood Cancer Foundation of Michigan is hosting its premier community fundraiser Scavenger Safari and Walk on Saturday, June 5 at the Detroit Zoo.
All proceeds will go towards helping more than 6,000 patients and family members navigate and overcome the immediate and ongoing burdens resulting from any type of blood cancer diagnosis.
The Blood Cancer Foundation offers help through disease education and resources, social work-based emotional support and financial assistance opportunities for social connection.
Participants have the option to participate in a scavenger hunt or take part in a walk around the zoo at their own pace. The $35 registration fee includes admission to the zoo, a silent auction, raffle, giveaways, lunch and parking. Additional fundraising beyond the registration fee is appreciated, and prizes are available at various fundraising levels.
The Scavenger Safari kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 8:30 a.m. The Detroit Zoo is located at 8450 W. 10 Mile Road, Royal Oak. To register, visit bloodcancerfoundationmi.org/scavenger-safari-walk.
